Due to increased demand and production, Tree Island Yogurt expanded their business and acquired industrial property in the Village of Cumberland to construct a new production facility. Wedler was retained to provide civil engineering services for building the new yogurt facility and assisting with permitting requirements with the authorities having jurisdiction (i.e. Village of Cumberland, Island Health, Ministry of Environment).
Wedler prepared the site servicing design including water servicing, stormwater management, site grading and paving. Wedler designed the onsite wastewater treatment and disposal for the domestic wastewater for the new yogurt facility, which involved the use of subsurface drip dispersal system. Wedler also assisted with the pipe layout and schematics for a heat recovery system within the facility.
