City of New Westminster – West End Phase 2-Storm Sewer Installation and Water Main Replacement

Wedler has been engaged by the City of New Westminster to undertake a multi-phase sewer separation and watermain replacement project, in five separate catchment areas, in the City’s west end. This project consists of approximately 15,500m of sewer design, and approximately 9,500m of watermain, in an area that covers approximately 1.2 km2.
The project has required multi-stakeholder coordination and permitting, including MetroVancouver, Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure, and BC Ministry of Forests (Archeology Branch). The project is primarily within residential neighbourhoods, creating unique challenges with disruption, impact, and access to residents. This project is currently in the construction phase and is anticipated to be completed in 2027.
