The City of Maple Ridge retained Wedler to complete the design and construction services for approx. 650m of a Multi Use Pathway and road widening along ecologically sensitive habitat. The following overarching services were provided:

  • Multiple concept and preliminary designs, in coordination with Environmental, and Archaeological assessments
  • Road widening and driveway grading along fronting properties
  • New lighting and pedestrian/bicycle crossings
  • Full environmental permitting
  • Tendering and recommendations

Wedler provided preliminary and detailed design development, tender administration, and construction services. This multi use pathway works project required consideration of a number of topics including geotechnical engineering, streetlight consulting, environmental permitting and approvals, and archeological studies.

The work performed included topographic survey, MMCD contract preparation and administration, sensitive habitat assessments, stream protection, nesting surveys, fish salvage, and preparation of detailed plan and profiles with cross-sections for clear contract requirements.
