Our expertise in construction management, site reviews, contract administration, and contract preparation helps ensure a robust agreement, where risks are minimized, and designs are implemented as intended.

In the role of Contract Administrator through the construction process, Wedler acts the impartial party liaising with both client and contractor.

Wedler is experienced with all types of contracts, with the majority of construction documents following Master Municipal Construction Document (MMCD), Canadian Construction Document Committee (CCDC) or National Master Specifications (NMS) format. Our personnel are also adept at interpreting specifications to assess civil engineering works as they are implemented.

Project Administration Services Include:

  • Project coordination.
  • Correspondence with Client, Contractor, and local jurisdiction.
  • Shop drawing review and review of all Contractor plan submissions.
  • Review design changes and/or alternatives.
  • Issuance of change orders as required.
  • Progress claim reviews and approvals.
  • Construction phase meetings and associated administration.
  • Monitor construction schedules.
  • Identify potential claims early-on and quick response to mitigate extra-costs and delays to stakeholders.

Wedler’s field inspectors use the latest mobile technology to document construction activity and create field reports with more detail recorded than with traditional methods. Written field reports for inspections are created with an App that can be used on phones or tablets, incorporating photos, commentary, and data.

The reports are generally assembled while an inspector is still on site, expediting the construction quality feedback cycle. Leveraging this technology provides added value by being able to collect more information with greater efficiency, aiding in creating accurate as-built record drawings, and has proven to be very useful in resolving any end of project concerns.
