Onsite Wastewater

Wedler has significant experience and expertise in small to medium sized onsite waste-water treatment and disposal systems. We have completed projects under both the BC Ministry of Health regulations and, for larger systems, the BC Ministry of the Environment regulatory framework.

Our Focus

Our focus is on designing customized sewerage treatment systems for constrained sites, typically new septic systems for residential dwellings or expansions. Onsite sewerage assessments can also be utilized to assess needs for the future, identify a suitable location on the site, and preliminary system sizing.

Onsite wastewater systems typically include a treatment train (Types I, II or III) and a disposal field. Our methodology involves detailed design for the system and to confirm works constructed meet the design intent, including:

  • Field investigation and testing
  • Hydraulic and linear loading calculations
  • Detailed septic system design and specifications
  • Health Authority filing and permitting
  • Construction supervision
  • Certification of new onsite wastewater treatment and disposal system
